Personal Care

Simple Unscented Deodorant

Ingredients

2 tablespoons / 40mL coconut oil

1/8 cup / 35g bi-carb soda

1/8 cup arrowroot powder or cornstarch

    Method

    1. Melt coconut oil on low heat and whisk

    2. Allow oil to cool slightly, keeping its liquid form

    3. Add baking soda and arrowroot powder to oil and whisk together, pour into glass jar

     

    Cleaning

    All-Purpose Cleaner

    Ingredients

    1/4 cup / 60mL cleaning vinegar

    1/8 cup / 35g bi-carb soda

    2 litres water

    Method

    1. Pour all ingredients into spray bottle and shake to combine

     

    Lemon Disinfectant Spray

    Ingredients

    1 1/4 cups / 310mL water
    1/4 cup / 60mL white vinegar
    1/4 cup / 60 mL Community Refill Surface Sanitiser

    Method

    1. Pour all ingredients into spray bottle and shake to combine

     

    Reusable Dust Wipes

    Ingredients

    2 cups / 500mL distilled water
    25 drops essential oil of choice
    2 tablespoons / 40mL olive oil
    1 tablespoons / 20mL cleaning vinegar

    Method

    1. Cut a cleaning towel into quarters

    2. Combine all ingredients in large bowl and add cleaning towels ensuring all towels are covered

    3. Soak towels until there are no dry spots

    4. Wring out towels until they are damp

    5. Tightly roll towels and store in an airtight container

    If towels happen to dry out, damped with water before use.

     

    Rinse Aid

    Ingredients

    1 1/4 cups / 375mL cleaning vinegar
    1-2 drops essential oil of choice

      Method

      1. Pour vinegar into glass bottle and add essential oil

      2. Gently shake until the oil dissipates

       

      Dishwashing Liquid

      Ingredients

      1/3 cup / 100g washing soda
      1 cup / 250mL liquid castile soap
      1 cup / 250mL water
      1/2 tablespoon / 10mL vegetable glycerin

        Method

        1. Bring water to a boil

        2. Pour washing soda into a large bowl and stir in boiling water, continue stirring until washing soda is completely dissolved

        3. Allow mixture to cool to room temperature

        4. Stir in castile soap and glycerin until well combined

        5. Store liquid in a glass bottle.

        Use approx. 2 tablespoons of dish washing liquid per sink of water. For best results rinse dishes after washing in a sink of water with 1 cup of white vinegar added.

         

        Floor Cleaner

        Ingredients

        7 – 8 litres hot water
        2 tablespoons / 40mL castile soap
        5 drops of tea tree essential oil

          Method

          1. Add hot water to a bucket, then add castile soap and tea tree essential oil

          2. Gently stir the ingredients to combine, avoid making a lot of bubbles

           

          Bath and Body

          Bath Bombs

          Ingredients

          1/2 cup / 145g bi-carb soda
          1/4 cup corn starch
          1/4 cup epsom salts
          1/4 cup citric acid
          3 teaspoons / 15mL coconut oil
          1 teaspoon / 5mL water
          5 drops essential oil of choice

            Method

            1. Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl, gradually adding wet ingredients and stirring with a whisk until mixture is wet enough to stick together in clumps

            2. Press mixture firmly into bath bomb moulds

            3. Allow mixture to sit in mould for approx. 5 minutes

            4. Carefully remove bath bombs from mould and allow to try for 24 hours

             

            Coconut Lime Salt Scrub

            Ingredients

            1 cup / 335g coarse salt
            1/2 cup / 125mL organic coconut oil
            5 drops coconut essential oil
            2 limes

              Method

              1. Grate skin of limes, get as much skin as you can avoiding the white pith of the lime

              2. Combine salt, coconut oil and essential oil and 1 teaspoon of lime juice, adjusting ratio of coconut oil and salt to find the consistency you like

              3. Gently stir in lime zest

              4. Store mixture in airtight glass jar
